Curmudgeons' CornerCurmudgeon Malcolm Tent is almost hysterical over historicalWhy do people say "an historical account"? I am hearing this more and more and, in fact, I heard an NPR reporter use it over the weekend! However, I don't hear anyone speak of the recent film, "An History of Violence". Do you? Let's not be pretentious! It's "a historical account"! Unless you're Cockney! |
