We receive hundreds of queries a week.   Please follow the instructions below to increase your chances of having your query answered in Take Our Word For It.  After reading the points below, use the link at the bottom of the page to submit your query.

• We presume that you have searched the site for your word or phrase.  If you have not done so yet, go to the search page.

• Please limit your queries to English words.

• For personal names, see our Links page, as we do not address personal names.

• Is this for a school assignment?

• Do you have a deadline to meet?

• Are you a journalist or someone else in need of a quick response?

• Do you want us to e-mail you a response?  We can do so only for a reasonable fee.
